The methodical process of gathering information from appropriate and relevant sources in order to offer answers to problem statements is known as data collection. These data sets can be quantitative (measurements) or qualitative (observations).

Depending on the research’s goal and breadth, however, data collection is frequently fraught with difficulties. The sort of data to be collected, the techniques and processes to be used, and the appropriate statistical approach to evaluate the gathered data are all examples of these issues.
